Product Description
Pure zinc thermal spray wire is a consumable feedstock used in thermal spraying equipment.
In arc spraying, continuously fed wires are melted by an electric arc and atomized toward a prepared substrate. In suitable flame spray systems, the zinc wire is melted by the flame and deposited onto the surface.
The resulting zinc coating provides corrosion protection for steel by combining a physical barrier with sacrificial electrochemical protection.
Because zinc is more electrochemically active than steel, a properly applied zinc coating can continue to protect exposed steel areas when minor coating damage occurs.
