Cobalt-based alloys are a type of alloy with cobalt as the main component. They are widely used in aerospace, medical, energy and industrial fields due to their excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and high temperature stability.

Composition of Cobalt-Based Alloys

Cobalt-based alloys usually use cobalt (Co) as the matrix element, combined with other elements to enhance specific properties. Common alloying elements include:
Chromium (Cr): Improves corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, usually 20-30%.
Nickel (Ni): Enhances high temperature strength and ductility, and the nickel content in some alloys can reach 20%.
Tungsten (W): Improves high temperature strength and wear resistance, usually 5-15%.
Molybdenum (Mo): Improves corrosion resistance and strength.
