Monel K500 Bright Wire (UNS N05500) is an advanced nickel-copper alloy wire that delivers superior performance compared to standard Monel 400. Through controlled additions of aluminum and titanium followed by age-hardening heat treatment, it achieves approximately three times the yield strength and double the tensile strength of Monel 400 while maintaining excellent ductility and toughness.
The bright, polished finish provides a smooth, clean surface ideal for medical and high-precision components. This wire remains non-magnetic even at low temperatures, exhibits outstanding resistance to seawater, acids, alkalis, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, and retains its mechanical properties across a wide temperature range (from cryogenic conditions up to approximately 480°C / 896°F).
