Monel 400 is a versatile nickel-copper alloy containing approximately 63% nickel and 28-34% copper. The bright annealed condition provides a bright, oxide-free surface that improves cleanliness, corrosion performance, and aesthetics for precision applications.

This alloy offers excellent resistance to many corrosive media, including seawater, brackish water, hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids, and alkaline solutions. It maintains high strength and toughness across a wide temperature range—from cryogenic conditions up to approximately 1000°F (538°C). Monel 400 wire can only be hardened by cold working and exhibits good weldability and thermal conductivity.
