Product Description
K4169 is the cast counterpart within the Chinese 4169 alloy family. It is based on a nickel-iron-chromium matrix containing controlled additions of niobium, molybdenum, titanium and aluminum.
Niobium is the principal age-strengthening element. During an appropriate heat-treatment cycle, it promotes the precipitation of γ″, while aluminum and titanium contribute to γ′ formation. These fine precipitates provide high tensile strength, fatigue resistance and useful stress-rupture performance.
Compared with many high-γ′ turbine-blade superalloys, K4169 offers a useful balance of castability, ductility, strength and repairability. It is particularly suited to complex structural castings and thin-wall components operating at intermediate temperatures rather than the hottest uncooled turbine airfoils.
The final properties of a K4169 casting depend on metal cleanliness, niobium segregation, grain size, porosity, investment-casting parameters, homogenization, solution treatment, aging and any hot isostatic pressing process.

Applications
K4169 is used for integral or segmented engine casings requiring high strength, dimensional accuracy and complex near-net-shape casting capability.
Investment casting allows K4169 to form thin walls, ribs, bosses and abrupt section transitions that may be difficult to manufacture economically by machining or fabrication.
K4169 may be selected for cast bearing housings and related engine structures exposed to cyclic loading and intermediate-temperature service.
Large or complex annular castings can use K4169 where strength, fatigue resistance, weldability and casting integration are important.

Is this material suitable for oil & gas applications?
Absolutely. Cast 718 (K4169) is widely used in subsea valves and downhole equipment due to its strength and resistance to sour gas environments.
Is K4169 the same as Inconel 718?
K4169 is commonly cross-referenced to cast Alloy 718 or IN718C, but it should not be treated as automatically identical to every Inconel 718 product. Product form, chemical limits, heat treatment, testing and certification must be compared against the governing specification.
What is the difference between K4169 and GH4169?
K4169 is intended for casting, while GH4169 is primarily a wrought alloy processed through forging, rolling or related hot-working routes. Their chemistry is similar, but their manufacturing processes, structures, product standards and acceptance requirements differ.
