Inconel 625 (UNS N06625) is a solid-solution strengthened nickel-based superalloy renowned for its outstanding combination of high tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and resistance to oxidation and corrosion. In the rapidly growing hydrogen energy industry, where materials must withstand high-pressure gaseous hydrogen (up to 700-1000 bar) without succumbing to hydrogen embrittlement (HE), Inconel 625 bars and rods stand out as a preferred choice.
Unlike many steels and even some nickel alloys, Inconel 625 exhibits superior hydrogen embrittlement resistance due to its high nickel content (>58%), molybdenum, and niobium stabilization. This makes it ideal for critical components in hydrogen storage tanks, hydrogen transport trailers, and hydrogen refueling station vessels. DLX Alloy's Inconel 625 bars are manufactured using advanced vacuum induction melting and electroslag remelting processes to ensure ultra-low impurities and consistent microstructure, providing long-term durability in clean hydrogen energy applications.

High nickel matrix minimizes hydrogen diffusion and trapping, preventing brittleness and cracking in high-pressure hydrogen environments.
Resists pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing or sour hydrogen environments.
Yield strength up to 517 MPa (annealed) and excellent fatigue resistance, maintaining properties from cryogenic to 980°C.
Forms a protective oxide layer, ideal for hydrogen production and reforming processes.
Easily welded without post-weld heat treatment, supporting complex vessel and pipeline fabrication.
